Digital Artist Jaques Perconte prefers Ruby LED panels for Aour Europe

During each presidency of the Council of the European Union, the buildings of the Council are furnished according to an artistic design concept developed by the Member State holding the presidency. For the French Presindency digital artist Jaques Perconte, one of the contributing artists, selected ROE Visuals Ruby LED panels to perform his work Aour Europe.

To foster the Europe of Culture initiative and bring European citizens together around shared projects an ambitious cultural and artistic programme has been developed, backed by the Ministry of Culture and the Institut Français.

For the French presidency, the project "The Fabric of Europe" will decorate the Council buildings with the 37 colours from the 27 flags of the Member States. This project is designed by Ateliers Adeline Rispal in collaboration with the graphic design agency SI – Studio Irrésistible with lighting by Les Éclaireurs. This artistic and interior design concept symbolizes the motto of the European Union, "United in diversity", through two original creations, one of which is Aour Europe, a work of digital and audio art by artist Jacques Perconte.

Jacques Perconte prepares his artwork meticulously. Over a six-month period, several visits to the ROE Visual showroom in Leek, testing his artwork on several LED screens led to the conclusion that the Ruby RB2.3 LED panels provided the best solution. A final test with the artwork displayed in actual size was successfully concluded just before the final installation in Brussels.

Bringing parties together, ROE Visual found Dutch AV Company MHB willing to invest in a large batch of Ruby LED panels. The investment will enable MHB not only to support this project but also future projects in their expanding portfolio. MHB are a regular guest in Brussels, and recently they provided LED panels for the NATO summit.

“When ROE Visual approached us to support this art project for the EU Council, we knew this would be a natural fit. Having concluded several installations in Brussels, we know what it takes to work under the restrictions of the EU Council. With the LED panels delivered in time to perform the real size test on location, just before the final build, we could prepare the project to perfection. It’s rewarding to see all parties so happy with the final results", Marten Hylkema, owner MBH.
