Carbon RGB+ LED panel

Carbon Full Spectrum LED panels

RGB+ panels

ROE Visual offers two advanced full-spectrum LED panels designed for studio production. Based on the Carbon Series CB5 panel, these so-caled RGB+   panels are available in a Carbon CB5 MKII RGBW and Carbon CB5 MKII RGBCA version. These panels provide superior color rendering accuracy, optimized for on-camera use, ensuring true-to-life visuals in demanding environments like broadcasting and filmmaking.

ROE Visual's full-spectrum LED panels offer advanced solutions for achieving realistic on-camera results, particularly for accurately rendering skin tones and improving reflections. By incorporating additional emitters beyond the standard RGB format, these panels extend the spectral bandwidth, deliver higher brightness, and provide more accurate color representation. This results in a greater tonal and color rendering range compared to typical RGB panels.

Unprecedented Color Accuracy

RGB+ panels bridge the gaps between the standard RGB red, green, and blue colors found in traditional LED packages. These panels offers a wider spectrum in individual color segments, delivering enhanced spectral bandwidth and cinematic color fidelity. This makes them ideal for lighting talents or set elements in virtual production environments, where realism is crucial.
The RGB-W version is designed for indoor use only, while the RGB-CA version offers a waterproof solution, making it suitable for outdoor applications.

RGB vs RGBW

RGBW LED Panel

The RGBW variant integrates red, green, blue, and warm white subpixels in each LED, delivering a high color rendering index (CRI) and using Brompton’s True Light algorithm to manage the white subpixel. This provides superior spectral quality and accurate color representation for human observers and cameras, making it ideal for studio lighting where natural colors are critical. Although the RGBW panel has higher power consumption compared to RGB and RGBCA, it excels in color accuracy, particularly for warm tones between 2700K and 5000K.

RGB vs RGBCA

RGBCA LED Panel

The RGBCA panel, featuring red, green, blue, cyan, and amber subpixels, takes color accuracy to another level by offering fine-tuned spectral control, tailored to meet studio cameras' needs. The panel excels in maintaining color consistency across a wide range of lighting conditions, from daylight to more complex image-based lighting scenarios. RGBCA’s power efficiency is also a standout, with lower energy consumption than RGBW, making it a cost-effective choice for virtual production environments.

Key Differences Between RGBW and RGBCA

Full spectrum LED
  • LED Processing: RGBW uses Brompton's Tessera LED processing and RGBCA uses Megapixel's HELIOS LED Processing Platform.
  • Color Rendering: Both panels offer exceptional color rendering. RGBCA provides more flexibility with complex lighting scenes due to the additional cyan and amber subpixels. RGBW is best suited for accurate warm white lighting.
  • Power Consumption: RGBCA offers a more energy-efficient option, especially in high-brightness settings.
  • Spectral Performance: RGBCA scores better on the Spectral Similarity Index (SSI), ensuring more natural light that cameras can capture more faithfully.
