Glass Animals’ “Tour of the Earth” Takes ROE Visual LED to the Stage

Leek, The Netherlands (17 March 2025) - Glass Animals’ “Tour of the Earth” was an immersive, cinematic experience that blended retro-futuristic aesthetics with cutting-edge video technology. Drawing inspiration from 1970s and 1980s sci-fi, the show fused real-time video synchronization, holograms, and live-camera feeds into a visual spectacle. 80-six was tasked to deliver this visual spectacle, taking ROE Visual’s LED technology to the stage to deliver visuals across 23 LED screens.

At the heart of the tour’s visual design was an upstage LED wall measuring 18m x 9.6m and a network of embedded screens, including 16 mini-CRT-style monitors. Based on ROE Visual’s MC7 and Carbon CB5 panels, these LED surfaces formed the backbone of a dynamic 360° video environment, ensuring a visually cohesive experience across different venues, from large arenas to intimate spaces.

One of the most captivating elements of the production was the Pepper’s Ghost hologram effect, achieved through two ROE Visual LED panels on a polycarbonate-formed dome. This technology projected animated holograms—ranging from dolphins and pineapples to a virtual Denzel Curry collaboration, allowing him to perform inside the dome without being physically present. ROE Visual’s high-performance LED panels ensured the clarity and impact of these surreal, floating images, creating a stunning illusion for the audience.

With 23 different LED surfaces, the team’s technical challenge was to enable seamless real-time synchronization across all video elements. 80-six used ROE Visual’s LED panels in combination with Brompton Technology LED processing. Content playback was managed via Disguise GX3 media servers, ensuring smooth transitions and synchronization between live feeds and pre-rendered content.

The seamless blend of LED screens, real-time content, and holographic illusions proved that LED technology is more than just a display—it’s an essential storytelling tool in the evolution of live music production.
